Regression: Relating Two Variables

This presentation will teach the participant how to use free online tools to explore the relationship between an independent variable chosen by the researcher and a dependent variable.

Learner Outcomes:

• Understand and explain what statistical regression is and why it is a valuable tool
• Create a scatter plot and a linear regression line
• Evaluate a regression line with p-values and correlation

Bruce R. Boynton, MD, PhD, is the AIA North Carolina Representative and a member of the AIA Board of Directors. He has had a distinguished career as a Naval Officer, pediatrician, researcher, editor, and hospital administrator. He studied at Aromahead Institute, Pacific Institute of Aromatherapy and The Heal Center in Atlanta, GA. He is the Editor of the Journal of Health and Human Experience.  He taught research study design in universities and major medical centers for over 25 years and have a Masters degree in epidemiology.
