After a brief introduction to tests in general, we will learn to calculate accuracy, sensitivity, specificity, and predictive value with a matrix. We will link these results to a discussion about Type 1 and Type 2 errors, the multiple comparisons problem, and prevalence and incidence of the condition.
Learner Outcomes:
Evaluate a test using the confusion matrix.
Understand the effect of prevalence and incidence on test evaluation.
Understand and be able to explain Type 1 and Type 2 errors.
