Awareness to Measure and Evaluate Aromatherapy

The Gattefossé Foundation is a corporate foundation created by the Gattefossé family to pay tribute to René-Maurice Gattefossé, a pioneer of modern scientific aromatherapy using essential oils for medical applications at the beginning of the 20th century.

Although the therapeutic value of aromatherapy has been understood and recognized for thousands of years, its safety must be validated and its benefits measured rigorously and scientifically. This is the only way to ensure that aromatherapy occupies its rightful place in integrative health.

The Foundation's mission is twofold:
#1. Encouraging research into clinical aromatherapy
#2. Supporting and promoting aromatherapy as a complementary healthcare option.

This presentation will give you a better understanding of the Foundation's programs and how to improve the quality of clinical research.

Delphine Marchaud is a chemist by training, and worked for 20 years in drug development for the pharmaceutical industry. In 2020, she decided to change direction and devote herself to a cause of general interest. She joined the Gattefossé Foundation to develop its missions and is the Foundation's director and currently heads its strategy and scientific advisory board.   Trained in clinical aromatherapy, she leads research projects and support campaigns.
