Designing a Research Study

This webinar will provide an overview of different types of research study design, their strengths and disadvantages.

• Identify major research study designs (survey, case-control study, randomized controlled trial)
• Explain the advantages and disadvantages of each research study design
• Identify whether a particular study design is prospective, retrospective, or present.

Bruce R. Boynton, MD, PhD, is the AIA North Carolina Representative and a member of the AIA Board of Directors. He has had a distinguished career as a Naval Officer, pediatrician, researcher, editor, and hospital administrator. He studied at Aromahead Institute, Pacific Institute of Aromatherapy and The Heal Center in Atlanta, GA. He is the Editor of the Journal of Health and Human Experience.  He taught research study design in universities and major medical centers for over 25 years and have a Masters degree in epidemiology.
