The Farmer-Distiller Perspective
with Kurt Arruda and Silvia Jimenez
Learner Outcomes:
Participants will have a better understanding of what local means.
Participants will have an open door to new protentional actions for aromatherapists.
One of the recurring themes that we try to reach with aromatherapist is the importance of acquiring essential oils/ hydrolats directly from farmers, this might be a very logical thought process, however, there is a lot of nuance of small complexities that are not considered, not to mention the greenwashing going around.
We would like to highlight this "new" generation of farmers/distillers that are slowly popping around the world that do not fit the traditional market of aromatic plants and how aromatherapists have a gargantuan work to do, to accompany or not, in this shift.
