Attar Making from Tradition to Future with Madeleine Kerkhof

Attar making is a unique Indian tradition, dating back to early human civilization. One of its products is Rose Attar, or Gulab Attar, made with Indian sandalwood, infused by rose hydrolat.
A team of highly skilled workers, headed by the master Digha, use classic copper stills and specialized manually controlled cooling methods. Heating methods are wood and cow dung. The whole process is meticulously overseen by the senses and the many years of experience of the master.
This webinar shows the process of (Rose) Attar making with many photo’s, and added information on Attar making, compiled by Madeleine in Kannauj, India, in December last year. She will also share her, and the distiller’s, views on sustainability of precious raw materials and conditions such as safety versus tradition and future.
Madeleine Kerkhof is a former RN, Clinical Aromatherapist, Aromatherapy Educator, Massage Therapist and AquaCare Specialist. Madeleine is a highly respected expert and world renowned educator in Clinical Aromatherapy (AromaCare), AquaCare and other complementary therapies, specialized in the care for the frailest patients and elderly, in oncology, in palliative and end of life care.
Madeleine is founder, CEO and Senior Educator of Kicozo, global Knowledge Institute for Integrative & Complementary (Nursing) Care.
Madeleine is the author of many papers and books. Her latest is Clinical AromaCare – Aromatherapy in Health Care & Practice (2023).
Madeleine is also the author of Dutch National Guidelines on Aromacare and Aquacare in Palliative and Cancer care (2023).
She travels the world to teach and also offers online programs, safe and science based (continuing) education, to train aromatherapists, herbalists, nurses and other health care professionals in clinical aromatherapy (AromaCare), and other clinical complementary techniques to enhance quality of life of patients and their loved ones.
