
Statistics 101: The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly with Bruce Boynton, MD, PhD, MPH
This presentation will orient and ground attendees in basic statistics and give them the vocabulary to discuss their research with statisticians. It will enable attendees to speak about data collection, analysis, interpretation, and presentation of their research.
Learner Outcomes:
Describe the field of statistics and understand what statisticians do.
Calculate the center and spread of a simple data sample.
Critique a chart and describe why it is either honest or dishonest.

Bruce R. Boynton, MD, PhD is the AIA North Carolina Representative and a member of the AIA Board of Directors. He has had a distinguished career as a Naval Officer, pediatrician, researcher, editor, and hospital administrator. He studied at Aromahead Institute, Pacific Institute of Aromatherapy and The Heal Center in Atlanta, GA. He is the Editor of the Journal of Health and Human Experience.
