Mark graduated from Macquarie University Sydney, with a BSc in Biochemistry and Plant Physiology and Biology, and is an associate member of the International Aromatherapy and Aromatic Medicine Association (IAAMA), and a member of the Australian Society of Cosmetic Chemists (ASCC).

Mark is well known as the author of author of the acclaimed reference book, Bush Sense: Australian Essential Oils and Aromatic Compounds, the first book to catalog and explain the therapeutic benefits of the aromatic treasures of the ‘Great Southern Land’.
